Chairman & Chief Executive's Report
The Chairman and Chief Executive have prepared this summary of the key developments taking place at the Hospice.
February 2012
Proposed new management structure
The development and implementation of proposals for a new management structure under which all Hospice services will be delivered is progressing.
The proposals have been shared with all staff and opportunity for volunteers to hear about them has been provided. The Board approved the changes on 1st February 2012 and the Senior Management Team are now working with staff to implement necessary changes by 1st April 2012.
The Hospice is striving to ensure that these changes will have as minimal an impact on service provision as possible, and once implemented, the changes should ensure the Hospice is as efficient and effective as possible, helping to secure the continued future care for patients and their families from Greenwich and Bexley Boroughs.
Hospice Finances
As well as making changes to Hospice Management Structure, the Senior Management Team is working to increase sources of statutory and voluntary income. Progress is being made in negotiations with NHS commissioners and partners increasing fundraising income and the Hospice opened a new shop in Erith in January. With careful planning and good community support, all of these areas are likely to generate additional income in 2012.
