Mick before launching his appeal in September 2010

Mick Gordelier launched his own appeal in September 2010 to raise £30,000 for the Hospice community nurses. Thanks to the generosity of Hospice supporters and a number of fundraising events including skydives, a golf day and a boat party organised by the Pearly Queen of Greenwich, Mick exceeded his target – the appeal  raised over £31,000.

We are incredibly grateful to Mick for his unfailing enthusiasm and generosity. Beating his fundraising target was a fantastic achievement, and the money raised is so important to us as it will help us continue to provide our specialised care to other local people suffering from life-limiting illness.

Mick sadly died at home in August 2011.  Many, many thanks to Mick and his family, and to everyone who kindly contributed towards the appeal – we truly appreciate it.

The care is second to none, it is like a 5 star hotel here.
