It's a Knockout Competition
05 June 2011
The It’s A Knockout competition was held on 5th June to raise funds to support the work of the Hospice.
The winning team was the ‘Flaming e-jits’ from Woolwich Fire Station who took the title of ‘Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice It’s a Knockout Champions 2011’.
12 teams took part in the event including teams from Plumstead and Woolwich Fire Stations, Amigo’s Gym in Sidcup, Gallions Housing Association, Firmby Electrical, staff from Belmarsh Prison and a team of Hospice staff and volunteers, called the ‘Hospice Heroes’.
Community Fundraiser Julie Lawrie-Raison said: “It was a fantastic afternoon, despite the wet weather, and the teams entertained the audience for four fun-filled hours.”
Approximately 350 people, including the teams, attended and joined in the fun.
“Sponsor money is still coming in but we hope to raise over £10k from the event for Hospice services,” said Julie.
Through the Virgin Money Giving website, people can sponsor and support the valiant efforts of our team of Hospice staff and volunteers who participated.
