Michael Buble inspired charity fundraiser

24 June 2011

“The entertainment kicked off at 8 pm with a breathtaking version of Cry Me a River and it just got better and better as the evening went on,” said Community Fundraiser, Julie Lawrie-Raison. Everyone was up dancing and the atmosphere was electric.”

The show included Bublés own international chart hits, Home, Everything, Lost and Haven't Met You Yet, mixed with a selection of Bublés trademark Big Band standards taken from his four UK chart topping albums.

Julie was delighted with the evening’s performance, saying afterwards: “I would like to thank Kai and all our supporters for making this such a brilliant event. We had a fantastic night out to raise vital funds for our local hospice.

The fundraiser was held at The Falconwood Club in Welling and raised £1,000 for the funds.

“£1,000 is enough to fund one of our community nurses for one week. These special nurses care for patients in their own homes, in familiar surroundings and with loved ones, which is where many prefer to stay. We’re delighted with the amount raised, said Julie.  “I’d love to see Kai McKenzie as Michael Bublé return to perform another fundraiser. He was a real star.”

The money was raised through a raffle and an admission fee, and supporters were treated to a hot supper in the interval, half way through.
