The Hospice Shop opened its doors last month and sells a combination of new and good quality donated goods including clothing, bric-a-brac, toys, books, collectables, electrical items, furniture, bed linen and small household items.

The launch is an opportunity for the local community to meet one of the charity's Trustees, Gerald Peters, Chief Executive, Kate Heaps, and Retail Manager, Betty Sorrell, all of whom will be happy to answer questions and provide additional information about the hospice, the work they do and how people can get involved.

Kate Heaps, Hospice Chief Executive said: "Our shops play a vital role in raising vital funds for the charity. Last year they raised £1,331,920 which is about one third of the voluntary funding needed each year to provide our specialist palliative care and support services to the people of Greenwich and Bexley."

Barry Owen, Erith Riverside Centre Manager, said "The launch is a fantastic opportunity for the local residents to come along and learn more about this fantastic charity and the work they do in the community."
