We are governed by a Board of Trustees. The Trustees have responsibility for overseeing our strategy and performance. Our Board are all volunteers who offer a range of skills and expertise to help govern the Hospice effectively. Our Board members include:

The Board meets regularly with our Senior Management Team to discuss Hospice strategy and performance and has delegated some of its responsibilities to various sub committees.
Our sub committees include:

- Finance Committee
- Voluntary Income Generation Committee
- Information Governance Committee
The membership of each committee is made up of Trustees and specific Hospice staff with responsibilities in that area. Minutes of committee meetings are circulated to the Board.
Our Senior Management Team
Our Senior Management Team (SMT) has responsibility for managing the Hospice and includes:
Kate Heaps, Chief Executive - Responsible for overseeing the Hospice, ensuring that Hospice resources are used as effectively and efficiently as possible and that the Hospice continues to respond to the needs of the community that we serve.
Wendy Lethem, Nurse Consultant in Palliative Care – Leads the Hospice’s Hospital Palliative Care Team at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich and holds SMT responsibility for education and training. As part of her role, Wendy also engages at a senior level with community and hospital based clinicians, managers and commissioners involved in the care of people with palliative care needs with the aim of improving care for anyone who may need end of life care, regardless of diagnosis or care setting and particularly the frail, the very old and those with dementia.
Aneta Saunders, Director of Income Generation - Overall management of all voluntary income. Aneta leads the retail and fundraising teams, who work directly with our community to provide much needed funding. With two-thirds of the Hospice costs being met by voluntary income, it is only with support of our donors, fundraisers and shop visitors that we can provide care to those who need us most across Greenwich and Bexley boroughs.
Justice Allotey, Associate Director of Finance - Overall management of the Hospice finances, overseeing all departmental budgets, income and expenditure and providing detailed reports for the Finance and Board meetings. Justice is also the senior manager responsible for IT and Estates.
Head of Human Resources - Responsible for Hospice workforce strategy, ensuring the highest standard of Human Resources and volunteer management, ensuring that legal and statutory requirements are met.
Dr Brendan O’Neill, Senior Consultant in Palliative Medicine - Leads the medical team across the Hospice, working in partnership with health care professionals in community and hospital services as well as providing teaching and training along with other members of the multi-professional team.
Sue Smyth, PA to the Chief Executive - Provides secretarial support and assistance to the Chief Executive and the Board of Trustees, acting on their behalf when necessary. Sue line manages a team of administrative staff and supports the Chief Executive with specific projects.
