International Women's Day: Behind the scenes at the Hospice

During International Women's Day, we are thinking about the contributions to the Hospice of some of our amazing team members, whose faces you may not recognise.

Jess leads our housekeeping team here at the Hospice. She has been with us for six years and works tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure that our Hospice is a clean, pleasant and safe environment for all our patients, visitors, staff and volunteers. Jess and her team were outstanding during the pandemic, because every day they went over and above in keeping us safe, and always did it with a smile.

Meet Annie. She's our HR Manager and also leads on equality, diversity and inclusion at the Hospice. As part of that role Annie makes sure that we continue to focus on equality in all that we do. We think she’s amazing because she is helping to open doors to help us build a stronger and more diverse workforce that reflects our community, so that our Hospice can continue to deliver for the patients and families that we help every day.

Lucy is our Lottery Officer. Every week she pushes the button that determines which of our lucky supporters has become a prize winner. You’ll usually find Lucy under piles of paper but she still finds time to come up for air and help the back office team to keep the wheels turning. We think she’s amazing because she can turn her hand to any task, always has a smile and is willing to help whenever she can.  Lucy is a trusted pair of hands and everybody needs a Lucy in their life.

Narinder is the manager of our Eltham store and joined us just under a year ago. Since joining the team, she has worked across a number of our stores and nothing is too much trouble for her. Narinder enjoys working with her team of volunteers and enjoys finding great items for her customers.

It goes without saying that all of our staff are amazing and we couldn’t do what we do without the support and contributions of so many. On International Women’s Day, we’d like to say a big thank you to you all the great women behind the Hospice.
