Consultant in Palliative Medicine
At the Hospice we believe that every dying person in Greenwich and Bexley should have the best care, support and quality of life possible and that our role is to lead the way by giving expert care, support and education to people with terminal illness, their families, friends and professional carers.
Our services and support extend outside of the Hospice inpatient unit and outpatient services, into the community in patients’ homes, care homes, prisons and in hospital. Our staff work in our own services and in partnership with other health and care organisations to help people maintain connections with their community and to maximise their quality of life.
Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice and St Christopher’s have a developing partnership and now have a number of collaborative projects. Our senior medical Teams are working closely together to unify practice across SE London Integrated Care System and to ensure we utilise our collective skills and resources to the benefit of the whole population.
You will join the Hospice Team based in Abbeywood, London SE2 and provide Medical leadership in our Inpatient Unit and to our Specialist Community Team. You will have the opportunity to work closely with the whole MDT at Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice, and with the medical team at St Christopher’s. You will also have allocated responsibility in the areas of education, audit, service development and research.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and resourceful candidate who is fully registered with the GMC and ideally has a CCT in Palliative Medicine or be within six months of award of CCT at the time of interview.
You will receive a full induction and have access to ongoing leadership and clinical training and development opportunities including weekly cross-Hospice Medical Team meetings.
