Location: Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice, 185 Bostall Hill, Abbey Wood, SE2 0GB

Locum Consultant in Palliative Medicine

At the hospice we believe that every dying person in Greenwich and Bexley should have the best care, support and quality of life possible. Our role is to lead the way by giving expert care, support and education to people with terminal illness, their families, friends and professional carers.

Our services and support extend outside of the hospice inpatient unit and outpatient services, into the community in patients’ homes, care homes, prisons and in hospital. Our staff work in our own services and in partnership with other health and care organisations to help people maintain connections with their community and to maximise their quality of life.

You will join the hospice team and either provide medical leadership to our Specialist Community Team based in Abbey Wood, London SE2 or In-reach Hospital Palliative Care Team at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich. Rotation to the Hospice In-patient Unit may also be possible. You will have the opportunity to work closely with the whole MDT. You will also have allocated responsibility in the areas of education, audit, service development and research.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and resourceful candidate who is fully registered with the GMC and ideally has a CCT in Palliative Medicine or be within six months of award of CCT at the time of interview.

You will receive a full induction and have access to ongoing leadership and clinical training and development opportunities.

Reasonable relocation expenses may be negotiable for the right candidate.
