Locum Specialist in Palliative Medicine


Fixed-term contract: 6 months, Part time 0.6 WTE


At the Hospice we believe that every dying person in Greenwich and Bexley should have the best care, support and quality of life possible and that our role is to lead the way by giving expert care, support and education to people with terminal illness, their families, friends and professional carers.

An opportunity to join the senior medical team at the hospice has arisen due to retirement.  The role is predominantly based with the Community Palliative Care Team, but may also involve providing senior medical cover to Hospice in-patients and the Hospital Palliative Care Team at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. You will also have the opportunity to engage in education, audit and service development activities.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and resourceful candidate who is fully registered with the GMC, and has a minimum of 12 years’ medical work since obtaining a primary medical qualification of which a minimum of six years should have been in a relevant specialty in the Specialty Doctor and/or closed SAS grades. The candidate will also need meet the criteria set out in the Specialist grade generic capabilities framework.

You will receive a full induction and have access to ongoing clinical training and development opportunities.
