Project Coordinator

Part Time 21 hours a week. Fixed term for 18 months

Location: Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice 185 Bostall Hill, Abbey Wood, London SE2 0GB

Salary: £15,532 - £20,038

Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice are looking for a someone to build links with communities in Thamesmead. You will be working to build links with existing groups as well as talking to local residents to ensure that people understand what the Hospice’s care can do for them, so that people reaching the end of their lives can make informed decisions about the care they receive.

This exciting role will see you coordinate activities across Thamesmead, using existing and new community locations, so that the Hospice’s services are truly accessible. You will also gather insights from the local population, sharing these with the Hospice team, so that we can ensure that the work we do truly benefits those who need us.

We are looking for someone with experience of community engagement and community development who has lived or worked within Thamesmead. You will be coordinating the delivery of events and clinical outreach services, as well as developing ways of working with the local community to ensure that these services are used.

You will also be looking at ways to replicate your successes in other areas across Greenwich and Bexley where the local community perhaps does not understand the way in which we can support those who need us, identifying opportunities and working with other colleagues to implement these ideas.

The funding for this role has been provided by the National Lottery Fund, so you will also be gathering evidence and sharing your experiences with our funders who are keen to support us in making a difference locally.

This is an exciting role which will improve the lives of both those who are ill and those who care for & about them.

To discuss the role informally, please contact Jon Devlin, jondevlin@gbch.org.uk to arrange an informal conversation.
