CQC inspection report

Care Quality Commission

Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice received an overall Good rating, following an inspection by Care Quality Commission (CQC).

The CQC inspectors made an unannounced visit to the Hospice on 28 September and 12 October 2016 to carry out the inspection under Section 60 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 as part of its regulatory functions. The inspection was planned to check whether the Hospice was meeting the legal requirements and regulations associated with the Health and Social Care Act 2008, to look at the overall quality of the service, and to provide a rating for the service under the Care Act 2014.

The CQC inspectors talked to staff, volunteers, patients, and patients’ relatives and asked the following five questions about the Hospice’s services:

  • Is it safe?
  • Is it effective?
  • Is it caring?
  • Is it responsive?
  • Is it well-led?

The Hospice received an Outstanding rating for its responsiveness, and a Good rating in the four other areas – resulting in an overall Good rating.
