Warehouse Volunteer

Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice shops are an excellent way for the community to support the hospice through shopping, donating, and volunteering. As well as raising much needed funds for the hospice they also help raise our profile in the community, enabling people to learn more about how we support people with life limiting illness. The Warehouse provides much needed stock to these shops by sorting through a large volume of donations and distributing them.  

Please note: You need to be over 18 years old for this role

Time commitment: One shift of 2 to 4 hours per week (or more if you have time!) 

Where you will be based: 16 Bellgrove Parade, Welling, DA16 2RE 

What you will be doing 

  • Sorting donations into various categories and recycling items not for resale 
  • Identifying any high value items to help us maximise our income 
  • Ensuring the warehouse is clean and tidy 
  • Unpacking new donations and thanking donors 
  • Moving and handling large donations (optional) 
  • Processing Gift Aid registration (optional) 

 

The skills and qualities you need  

  • Ability to work well in a team as well as independently 
  • Good communication skills 
  • Reliable & trustworthy 
  • Reasonably physically fit as there is lots of moving around
